The children are divided by age into 4 teams. Each team spends 20 minutes in four labs, where the kids formulate and test hypotheses, set up experiments, and draw conclusions. The workshop is completely interactive: each child performs experiments with their own hands. For parents: a scientific standup where you can learn new things and have fun at the same time.

WHAT'S THE PLAN?
We will equip 4 laboratories with the latest technology and study the living world at all levels of its organization - from individual cells to entire populations.
Cell Biology Lab
We will prepare a variety of micropreparations and study the structure of cells of different organisms. And the microscopes will not be like Leeuwenhoek's at all.
Genetics Lab
Let's make sure that Mendel's laws still work and observe the evolution in a small test tube. Children will take this experiment home.
Molecular Biology Lab
We will feel like experienced molecular scientists, arm ourselves with automatic pipettes, eppendorfs and plunge into the lowest level of life organization.
DNA Sequencing Lab
We will get acquainted with the DNA molecule and extract it from strawberries. Let's read the DNA sequence from the sequencer graphs and find out what genetic diseases are and how gene therapy works.

This time, boys and girls aged 5 to 6 will do the same experiments as the older ones, but accompanied by one of the adults.
We will ask one of the adults to help the little scientist, and the second will have an equally interesting time, participating in a fun and informative contest and competing with other participants for a valuable prize.

As usual, we have a special program for parents. We will show how knowledge of biology can be useful in everyday life, discuss the origin of species and dispel the most common myths about wildlife.

I like Smart Barcelona a lot and I think it fills a niche that was missing in the city: to make science fun for children to learn. Actually, I have booked already the third event for April and I am looking forward to it.
It is a very good experience for children, they learn by playing, feeling and experimenting. We were at the surgery yesterday and the children were very excited telling us everything they had done, and the parents' quiz was very entertaining.

Great initiative! It serves several purposes at once: it develops children, entertains them, creates in them a desire for science, entertains adults while their children study. The preparation and conduct of a very high quality - a scientific event for children! It is especially great that this is all in the times when our children mostly sit in screens - here they really act with their hands, with their heads and see the practical result right there: something is burning, something is melting, the laser is burning a balloon, fuel mixture explodes. Super!
Thank you so much for such a cool project. Useful for both children and adults! I had a day of nostalgia yesterday. I wrote a diploma at the Research Institute of Microbiology in Antibiotic Resistance, and then my children brought home Petri dishes with culture and antibiotic))) we will grow and observe. And for parents, the time was super useful. Almost no one knows why antibiotics do not sell antibiotics without prescriptions. That bacteria are already resistant to all known antibiotics, that scurvy is caused by a lack of vitamin C, and not some kind of bacterium. The children are delighted, and I received tremendous pleasure yesterday!

A normal ticket includes programs for a child and two adults, a quest and a diploma for the child
In this case, we recommend sending both children to the same group - the older one.
Yes, we offer group discounts! Leave us a request in the Price section and we will help you book tickets at a discount, and even find seats if they are not available.
For parents we have a separate program consisting of a relaxed quiz-quiz and a scientific dissemination conference. But of course, participation is voluntary. If you want, you can do your things and come to look for your child 1 hour and 30 minutes after the start time of the program.

If the child is 4 years old - we do not recommend.
Usually at this age it is difficult for children to study in a group without the presence of parents. It's worth growing up a bit.

Sometimes we do a special program for boys and girls aged 5-6. Find details on the event page.

The age limit is a recommendation. The program is pretty much the same for both groups, it's the explanations that slightly differ. The main difference is the age of other people in the group, so if your child feels better with older or younger children, you are welcome to choose whichever one is better for him/her.
Teams are formed instantly. Your child chooses a name tag of a certain colour and automatically enters the team of children who chose the same colour.
If we see that more than five children are registered under the same adult's surname, we save the name tags of the same colour for them. If you are less than five or if the children are registered under different adults' surnames we recommend you to come 30 minutes before the show starts so that you can get the name tags of the same colour.
We have a special program for parents. It is a quiz and a short sci-pop lecture. Participation is not obligatory (but it's fun!). You can go about your business and pick up your child in about 1 hour 30 minutes.
According to our experience, parents who accompany and take pictures distract the children from making the experiments. If you really want to shoot some photos, wait until the program is over and go to the lab with your child who will show you the equipment and tell about the experiments.
30 minutes before the program starts. You will have enough time to take off the jacket, register for the program, go through a small science quest in the lobby with the child, and enter the main room.
No, the program is free for parents. You don't need to buy tickets.
Don't worry if you lost your ticket or you can't show it to us for some other reason. When you buy the ticket, your data is saved in our database. You only have to tell us the first and last name of the person who payed for the tickets.
If the group is too big, your child and other kids will not have fun. That's why we close the registration when 64 tickets are sold. If you really want to join your friends who already bought the tickets, choose any free date and come to the new program together!
Cancellations are rare and usually happen a day or two before the event. Instead of cancelling, a ticket can be given to friends or relatives. However, we recommend that you periodically check our website. Sometimes empty seats do appear.

If your child is sick the morning before the event, try to find friends who can go instead of you, because we are unlikely to be able to sell this ticket already. If not, be sure to call us before the start of the event, we will try to help you.
